This weekend, we were celebrating Auntie Nini and Uncle Didier’s 60th birthdays (a vast program, believe me!). For the occasion, I was in charge of making ” congolais“, those fluffy little coconut boulders.
Almond cookies to say thank you!
I don’t know if you give culinary gifts like I do, but I find it very practical. I have a very good cookie recipe: “Excuse me, I’m really sorry” (usually, the taste of butter makes the bitterness go away and people never stay angry for long!).
For these almond cookies, it was a simple “Thank you for helping me out” (well, actually, more like “Thank you for trying”, but whatever…). Packaged in a pretty jar with a little label (from HEMA), they’re a real eye-catcher! Continue reading “Almond cookies to say thank you!”
Homemade shortbread
When you choose CAP recipes as a guideline, you inevitably cut yourself off from part of the population. I was having dinner yesterday with a friend who said to me “your recipes, generally speaking, just the equipment alone I don’t have…”. And it’s true that we’re witnessing a bit of a two-speed patisserie, with enlightened amateurs using increasingly professional techniques, and novices wanting simple recipes with ingredients from the cupboard. So today, in order to reconcile everyone, I’m offering you some homemade shortbread! Continue reading “Homemade shortbread”
Crunchy blondie for a quick snack!
Phew… the germs really got the better of me this week (enjoy, guys, it won’t happen again!). Another recycling for this recipe I’d made for a tea party that didn’t take place after all. Too bad, though, because we still enjoyed the leftovers! You may remember these apricot and pistachio blondies (one of the first recipes on the blog)? Well, this time, I wanted to try out this version of plain blondie found at Bruno de recettes américaines.
Giant Cookie (in 30 minutes)
I’m firmly convinced that no problem on earth can be solved with a pair of cookies (yes, in my house, just like shoes, cookies are one of those wonderful things that come in pairs!). I made this giant cookie during a weekend in Normandy. After a little swim (in 13° water, after all…), I had to find a comforting snack to recover, so I jumped at the chance! And I have to say, I wasn’t disappointed!
Soft chocolate crinkles!
As the weather is again a little gloomy today, it’s time to publish these little cookies with an INCREDIBLE texture. They’re melt-in-your-mouth soft and chewy, as if they were stuffed with powdered almonds, even though there’s not an ounce of them! I call them: chocolate crinkles!
